LVA contributed to the 33rd Brazilian Congress of Microbiology and FoodMicro® Latino 2025, one of South America’s leading conferences for food safety, microbiology, and analytical sciences, bringing together researchers, regulatory bodies, laboratories, and industry representatives from across Latin America and beyond.
During the mycotoxin roundtable, LVA presented insights on next-generation mycotoxin reference materials and their role in ensuring analytical reliability under the growing pressure of climate-driven changes in mycotoxin occurrence. The discussions highlighted the increasing need for high-quality, fit-for-purpose reference materials to support accurate testing, method validation, and comparability of results.
Brazil’s position as one of the world’s major grain exporters underscores the importance of robust mycotoxin control strategies, making reliable reference materials a key element in safeguarding food and feed supply chains. Strong interest was also shown in LVA’s poster presentation on quality studies of mycotoxin reference standards, emphasizing their value for laboratories operating in complex and dynamic analytical environments.
The conference once again demonstrated how science, laboratories, and industry can collaborate internationally to strengthen food safety systems—supported by reliable, next-generation reference materials.
